Origins of the CAC

The Climate Action Club was founded in 2007 by Chloe Maxmin, a then sophomore at Lincoln Academy. The club adviser is Charles Scimone. We have around 15 club members, all of whom are extremely active and dedicated.

We have completed many projects, made a big difference, and influenced others. We have received national recognition, and we are utilizing our recognition and support to inspire more people and effect change.

Our Mission

The Climate Action Club takes an active leadership role in our school and community to fight global warming, raise awareness, and make a difference.

The CAC educates students and others about global warming so they can become better informed about climate issues and what they can do to help. We strongly believe that education enables action. This is why we emphasize learning about the issues instead of acting without knowledge.

We also provide opportunities for students to get involved in the change process, such as by researching how Lincoln Academy can become more carbon neutral and advocating for reusable instead of plastic bags in local businesses.

This is the only club at Lincoln Academy completely dedicated to fighting global warming. We are students who are making a difference.
